HMC and JKKNIU Sign MoU to Create New Pathways for Professional Growth
Hossain Mumlook & Co., Chartered Accountants (HMC) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Faculty of Business Administration of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU), marking an important step towards strengthening the connection between academic learning and professional development.
The MoU was signed on the occasion of the seminar titled “CMA Choice: Your Future Professional Career an Exciting Success Route”, held on 14 May at the Conference Room of the Faculty of Business Administration at JKKNIU.
The event brought together university leadership, faculty members, students, professional bodies, and representatives from HMC to discuss opportunities for students pursuing careers in accounting, finance, management, and related professional fields.
A Strategic Partnership Between Academia and Professional Practice
The MoU was signed by Professor Dr. Shakhawat Hossain Sarkar, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, JKKNIU, on behalf of the University, and Md. Mumlook Hossain, FCA, FCMA, Principal of Hossain Mumlook & Co., Chartered Accountants, on behalf of HMC.
The agreement is designed to create a structured pathway for JKKNIU's Business Administration students to gain practical professional exposure, industry-oriented learning, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
For HMC, the partnership represents an opportunity to contribute directly to the development of the next generation of accounting and business professionals by connecting students with real-world professional practices.
Three-Month Structured Internship at HMC
One of the key provisions of the MoU is the opportunity for eligible JKKNIU students to participate in a three-month structured internship programme at HMC.
The internship will provide students with practical exposure to the professional environment of a Chartered Accountancy firm. Through structured activities and professional guidance, students will have opportunities to understand how theoretical knowledge is applied in actual audit, assurance, accounting, taxation, and consulting assignments.
The programme is intended to help students transition more effectively from academic learning to professional practice.
Training, Workshops and Seminars
Under the collaboration, HMC will also facilitate opportunities for students to participate in training programmes, workshops, seminars, and knowledge-sharing sessions designed to strengthen their professional competencies.
These initiatives will expose students to current professional practices and help them develop skills that go beyond academic qualifications—including analytical thinking, communication, professional judgment, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Mentoring and Professional Coaching
Another important aspect of the partnership is the opportunity for students to receive mentoring and coaching from experienced professionals.
Through interaction with practitioners, students will be able to gain a clearer understanding of professional expectations, career pathways, workplace challenges, and the skills required to build successful careers in accounting, finance, audit, and business.
Where appropriate, students may also receive exposure to field visits and practical professional activities, helping them gain a better understanding of real-world audit and consulting engagements.

The MoU also complements the broader professional opportunities available to JKKNIU graduates. Under the separate agreement between JKKNIU and ICMAB, eligible graduates who pursue the CMA qualification may receive exemptions of up to six courses out of the 20-course CMA programme, subject to the applicable provisions.
Together, these initiatives create a stronger pathway from academic education to professional qualification and practical experience.
