From Mindset to Mastery: HMC Learning Forum Continues to Develop Future-Ready Professionals

The HMC Learning Forum reflects this philosophy by creating continuous learning opportunities for our employees, students, interns, and young professionals. Through a diverse range of sessions, the Forum aims to develop not only competent professionals, but also thoughtful, confident, and responsible individuals.
In December 2025 and 2026, the Learning Forum continued this journey through three distinctive sessions focusing on personal growth, professional identity, and technical capability.
5M Framework: Building a Meaningful Professional Journey
On 13 December 2025, the HMC Learning Forum hosted Session No. 226, titled “5M Framework: Mindset, Methods, Mastery, Multiplication, and Meaning.”
The session was conducted by Mr. Abdul Alim Munshi, FCMA, whose extensive experience and mentoring approach created a particularly meaningful learning experience for HMC's interns and young professionals.
The 5M Framework encouraged participants to look at professional development as a continuous journey:
Mindset — developing the right attitude and perspective
Methods — learning effective ways to approach work and challenges
Mastery — continuously improving knowledge and skills
Multiplication — using one's knowledge and experience to create value for others
Meaning — connecting professional success with a greater sense of purpose
The session encouraged participants to reflect on where they are today, where they want to go, and how they can build a career that is not only successful but also meaningful.
Discovering Your True Identity
The Learning Forum continued its focus on personal and professional development through Session No. 227, titled “Discovering Your True Identity.”
The session was facilitated by Mr. Md. Mumlook Hossain, FCA, FCMA, whose professional experience, thoughtful reflections, and mentoring approach deeply resonated with the young participants.
Rather than focusing only on professional qualifications or technical skills, the session encouraged participants to explore who they are, what they value, what motivates them, and what kind of professional and individual they aspire to become.
Self-awareness is an important foundation for effective leadership. Understanding one's strengths, weaknesses, values, and purpose enables professionals to make better decisions, build stronger relationships, and approach their careers with greater clarity.
Empowering Professionals with MS Excel
The Learning Forum also recognizes that personal development must be complemented by strong technical capabilities.
In 2026, the Forum organized Session No. 29, titled “Empowering Professionals with MS Excel,” conducted by Mr. Mahbub Alam, ACMA.
The session focused on the practical application of Microsoft Excel as an essential professional tool. Participants were encouraged to look beyond basic spreadsheet functions and understand how Excel can support data analysis, efficiency, reporting, problem-solving, and better decision-making.
With practical insights and real-world applications, the session demonstrated how strengthening everyday technical skills can significantly improve professional performance.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
The three sessions represent three important dimensions of professional development:
Mindset → Identity → Capability
The 5M Framework encouraged participants to build the right foundation for their professional journey. The session on true identity focused on self-awareness and purpose, while the Excel session strengthened a practical technical capability that professionals can immediately apply in their daily work.
This combination is intentional.
