From Campus to Corporate: HMC Empowers JKKNIU Students, 2025
On 28 May 2025, the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU), in strategic collaboration with Hossain Mumlook & Co. (HMC) Chartered Accountants, organized an inspiring event titled “From University Campus to Corporate World: JKKNIU-HMC Empowerment Program”. The program created a vibrant platform for students to connect with industry leaders, explore career pathways, and prepare for a smooth transition into the corporate world.
The event began with a warm welcome from Professor Dr. Md. Mijanur Rahman, Registrar of JKKNIU, setting a tone of aspiration and pride. It was graced by Professor Dr. Zainul Abedin Siddique, Treasurer, and chaired by Professor Dr. Shakhawat Hossain Sarker, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, who highlighted the importance of bridging academic knowledge with industry readiness.
Adding a lively and engaging rhythm to the day, Ms. Juthika Roy, ACMA, Business Development Lead at HMC, anchored the sessions with confidence, energy, and personal warmth, keeping students and faculty fully engaged throughout.
The core sessions were both motivating and informative. Mr. Naba Krishna Muni, FCMA, inspired students with “CA Career Path: Unlock Your Potential,” showing how Chartered Accountancy can shape a global professional journey. Professor Dr. Nikhil Chandra Shil, FCMA, opened students’ minds to international opportunities in “Global Accounting Careers: Your Pathway to Success” and provided practical insights on tax reforms in “Fiscal Assessment Through the Lens of the Income Tax Act 2023.” Mr. Md. Abdul Alim Munshi, FCMA, encouraged students to dream big and pursue their goals with focus and resilience in his session, “How to Achieve Your Dream.”
The program concluded with reflective feedback from students and faculty, followed by a forward-looking address from Mr. Md. Mumlook Hossain, FCMA, FCA, CEO of HMC, emphasizing the value of ongoing collaboration between academia and industry to nurture future-ready professionals. Professor Dr. Shakhawat Hossain Sarker delivered the closing remarks, and a group photo captured the shared excitement, motivation, and sense of community.
Beyond the sessions, the collaboration between HMC and JKKNIU continued to grow. From this program, six promising students were selected for internships at HMC starting September 2025, marking the next step in a long-term partnership aimed at empowering the next generation of accountants.
