International Women’s Day 2026: Building a More Inclusive and Empowering Workplace at HMC

At Hossain Mumlook & Co., Chartered Accountants (HMC), we believe that a strong organization is built on a culture of respect, inclusion, equal opportunity, and continuous growth. In observance of International Women’s Day 2026, the HMC Learning Forum organized a thoughtful and engaging workshop focused on women’s empowerment and creating a more supportive workplace environment.

The workshop provided an opportunity for our team members to reflect on the challenges women may experience in professional environments and, more importantly, to explore practical ways to address those challenges.

Learning Through Real Workplace Scenarios

As part of the workshop, participants were divided into three groups, with each group receiving a practical case scenario related to women’s empowerment in the corporate environment.

Rather than simply discussing the issues theoretically, participants were encouraged to analyze the situations from different perspectives and identify practical, constructive, and solution-oriented approaches.

The group activities encouraged participants to consider important workplace issues such as mutual respect, inclusivity, equal opportunities, professional development, mentorship, communication, and supportive workplace practices.

Each group presented its case and proposed solutions to the wider audience. The presentations demonstrated thoughtful analysis, teamwork, professional communication, and a genuine commitment to creating a workplace where women can participate, contribute, and grow with confidence.

Empowerment Through Dialogue and Awareness

One of the key strengths of the session was its interactive approach. Instead of treating women’s empowerment as a standalone topic, the workshop encouraged participants to understand it as a shared organizational responsibility.

A truly inclusive workplace requires awareness and participation from everyone. It involves creating an environment where individuals feel respected, their contributions are valued, and they have access to opportunities to learn, develop, and progress.

Mentorship and continuous professional development were also highlighted as important elements in supporting women's career growth. Creating opportunities for women to develop their skills and take on greater responsibilities ultimately strengthens the organization as a whole.

Facilitating Meaningful Conversations

The session was skillfully facilitated by Ms. Juthika Roy, ACMA, whose thoughtful insights, practical approach, and engaging presentation created an open and reflective learning environment.

Through discussion, case analysis, and group presentations, participants were encouraged not only to identify challenges but also to think about what can be done differently and what practical steps organizations can take to create meaningful change.

HMC’s Commitment to Women’s Empowerment

At HMC, we believe that empowering women strengthens institutions, improves workplace culture, and enriches the professional community.

Women’s empowerment is not only about providing opportunities; it is also about creating an environment where those opportunities can be accessed fairly and where individuals are supported in making the most of them.

The International Women’s Day workshop reaffirmed HMC’s commitment to fostering a workplace that is respectful, supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented, where every individual is encouraged to reach their full potential.

We sincerely appreciate the active participation and thoughtful contributions of everyone who made the session meaningful and impactful.

At HMC, we will continue to create spaces for learning, dialogue, reflection, and action—because a more inclusive workplace is not created in a single day; it is built through continuous commitment and collective effort.

Together, we learn. Together, we grow. Together, we empower.
